Hello, I’m a Mac

As the ‘Get a Mac’ ads say.

Until recently, I’ve never been Mac person until very recently. In fact, I was never really exposed to them until I went to University. Until then, I’d read some articles about OS 8 and OS 9 (and Copland) in various magazines that were available in the UK. My generally feeling was of fear of the unknown. I mean, they didn’t look like DOS or Windows! And what’s with the single mouse button! So, when I went to university, there was a single lab, full of Macs (the was another lap, full of Sun terminals, and a lab full of Windows 3.1 PCs…. but we also had access to all the other inter-departmental general use PCs, all running Windows 3.1). A boy did I hate them. I still would hate them. OS 9 was possibly one of the most overrated Operating Systems you could get. It sucked just as much as Windows 3.1, and as far as I’m concerned, Windows 95 had a lot more going for it.

So, I left Uni, I remained in world of Windows, from Win95, Win98, Windows ME, and onto Windows XP.

Until about March 2004….

[to be continued, when I get the chance]
