Snow!!!!

How exciting. I’m working from home (thanks to my 45Mb broadband connection)…… I’ve just looked out of the window and it’s now snowing. :)
Shame though. In Japan, they take down all the rather extravagent Christmas decorations about a day or so after Christmas day. Snow covered Xmas decorations would have looked really nice.

Nevermind. OK, back to work. Maybe will post something later today or tomorrow ………………… 明日は休みです[Tomorrow is a holiday]

Welcome

Well, this is my first real post.
In my spare time, I’ve been configuring this blogging software and getting my basic user setup (instead of posting as the Blog admin all the time). Got Yuko’s user all setup as well, so I’ll have to show her how to use this software. It seems that I can localise the user interface of this software in Japanese, but not on a per user basis. The cool thing is though that I can still post content in Japanese. これは日本語ですよ。See…. cool eh? :)

I suppose when I get time, I’ll start modifying the look and feel of the blog section of this website, so that it is consistent with the rest of the static website (Main Site)

So, whats been happening?
Well, this Sunday I cooked my second British style Christmas dinner. The one I did on the 18th December was for a couple of Japanese friends. This one was for Yuko’s parents and brother (doubling up as a birthday party for her brother who is a Christmas birthday person). The strength of sweet flavour and alcohol content in traditional Christmas pudding gave them a bit of a shock. The thing is though, for the last 6 months I’ve been eating a lot of Japanese food. So even though I still love the taste of Christmas dinner, it’s certainly not easy on the stomach. Lets just say I’ve been having problems digesting the stuff!!!

The other thing Yuko and myself decided is that Japan is just not ‘Xmas-y’ enough compared to the UK, especially on Christmas Day itself. Christmas Eve is more important here, and its more couple orientated than family orientated. Now, I like the couple thing……. but it would be nice to have a family feeling the next day on Christmas Day. Ahh well, we’ve decided we will probably do Xmas in the UK in 2005.

New Year though……… now thats what is important in Japan, and I’m looking forward to that (especially as I should have my copy of Gran Turismo 4 by then, whooo! :) )

Hello world!

Well. This is it. I’ve just installed WordPress, and this is my first entry in my new Blog.

OK, time to start setting things up, and creating some new users.
