Yesterday, was a really hot day. Hottest, and most humid I’ve felt this year in Japan and pretty much like it was when I arrived here nearly a year ago.

First up, we decided to visit Tsukishima. As the Japan Reference mentions, we went because we wanted to try some of the local food.

The neighbourhood of the same name is famous for its “monja-yaki” (もんじゃ焼き) or or “omonja”, a sort of “okonomiyaki” (お好み焼き), a culnary speciality that notoriouly looks like vomit.

Now, it may look like vomit, but it was pretty tasty stuff. We’ve made it ourselves at home, but it was fun to try eating it out somewhere. The only downside it was a bit stupid doing this in the hot weather. Cooking your own food over a very hot plate at your table was maybe not so sensible. Ahh well, plenty of beer to drink to keep you cool!

After that, we headed off to Roppongi-Hills, ready for Star Wars Episode 3.
