Hmmm, compared to last year, summer has been a lot cooler. Today is a rather nice 28 degrees, and it doesn’t feel that humid. Lovely!

Yesterday, I finish reading Hokkaido Highway Blues (the British edition, which has been re-edited and cut down apparently). I read most of it on the airplane back from the UK, and have finished it off on the train while commuting about the place.
I though it was a pretty good read, but after a while it gets a bit dull (pretty much once he gets as far as Akita. Clearly at this point he is rushing through the journey. Alhough at times he makes some pretty good comments about the negative aspects of Japan, I felt the author was somewhat tired of Japan and his Love/Hate relationship had turned into a more Kinda-like-at-times/Really-Hate relationship.
Still a pretty good read though.
