Hmmmm, this Google Video thing is quite cool.

There seems to be a bit of Japanese TV on there, after a quick look, so I thought I’d stick a few links up. Then people not here in Japan can see what we have over here.

The Ping Pong Matrix clip is an old one, that’s been around on the Internet quite a while now. It’s part of a programme where groups of people do other similar ‘acts’ and get marked out of 20. I’ve seen a couple of these programmes now, and to be fair, some of the ‘acts’ are very well thought out and executed (quite often by young kids). Mind you, it’s typically low-budget Japanese TV.

Of course, sometimes, Japanese TV goes a little too far. Here are two clips of ‘entertainment’ shows. They both feature members of ‘Entertainment Group’ (I wouldn’t call them singers, because they suck at that) Morning Musume. This one was done a couple of years ago, because some of them have left the group since.
Morning Musume vs Lizard shows how Japanese TV is perhaps overly fond of the action replay :)
Morning Musume vs Ringu just goes too far, scaring the crap out of them.

Mind you, it ain’t all too bad. This clip, and this clip from a Magic show are pretty damn impressive. It also demonstrates that it is important to learn the following two Japanese words, so that you can appear as a ‘talent‘ guest or an ‘idol‘ on the programme (those people in the little inset screen down in the bottom right).
They are “ええぇぇぇぇぇぇ” (Ehhhhh!!!!!) and “すごい” (Sugoi!!!).

I also found this non TV clip. It was filmed during the ‘Coming of Age’ Day celebrations in Japan. Its when all the new 20 year olds celebrate becoming adults. The men don’t often get dressed up, the women make the most of it wearing their kimono’s. However, what was amusing is the rather infamous (here in Japan anyway) Black Bus. These are driven by members of the Japanese nationalist and facist groups, and often go around disturbing the peace somewhat with their insanely loud loudspeakers. In fact the ones in this video are rather quiet!!! :)
Was most amusing at the end when they get blocked. :) :)

Finally, some quality advertising in Japan. She asks at the end “Where are you looking at?” Hmmm, let me see!
