Well, this is sort of good news to see…
I’d rather see the two countries start talking about alternatives and energy saving, that get into a stupid war of dwindling resources (South China Sea gas for example).

Meanwhile, the Kuwait Times does not paint a pretty picture regarding the state of one of the largest oil fields in the world.
It looks like “Burgan” has peaked.
Chris over at Vital Trivia has also reported that it seems “Cantarell” has peaked too. So, that’s the 2nd and 3rd largest oil fields in the world, with nothing available to take up the slack.

Mind you, if this is all far too depressing, then I suggest you start smoking what Jaime Spellings (Exxon Mobil’s Corporate Planning Division) is smoking.
With comments like
“To satisfy growing crude oil thirst, OPEC will have to produce more than 47 million barrels a day by 2030, a 40 percent increase over current levels, Spellings said.”

He then said…
“We’re very confident that that growth will happen”.
Just where exactly is OPEC going to get this extra 40% from??!! We haven’t discovered any significant new reserves since the 1960’s-1970’s!!!

Man, that guy is smoking something really strong to believe that. Then again, he probably doesn’t, but we can’t be scaring the Stock Market can we.
