Mac / OS X, PC, Technology and Computing

Wooohooo

About time. Reading some stuff about the new Microsoft OS.

Also, he said, Longhorn will come in a single binary for all the different language editions. Apple has done that in Mac OS X, but it’s a first for Windows.

Hurrray!!!
When the time comes to upgrade, I could in theory stick with a Windows machine. May have to wait until December 2006, or later though.

As funky and nice as an Apple is, they are pretty pricey (the hardware I mean) :(

Japan, Politics

Ishihara… what a complete tool!

Just reading this story about a failed court ruling on politicians visiting Yasukuni Shrine.

Yet again, Ishihara, the Governer of Tokyo, and a rather Nationlistic chappie came out with this gems.

“As a Japanese, I go to Yasukuni Shrine to express my respect and condolences for the war dead,” he said in a statement. “I consider this ruling to be a very natural decision.”

He then went further, telling Reuters news agency that he thought Japan should station troops on a chain of disputed islands in the East China Sea known as the Senkaku islands in Japan and the Diaoyu islands in China.

“We should send our military there and if Chinese activists or North Korean agents intrude and don’t listen to orders to stop, then we should sink them,” Mr Ishihara told Reuters.

Muppet!

Thats the thing that gets on my nerves. The very day that Koizumi make a public apology (well, expressed ‘remorse’) about Japanese actions during WW2, in an international summit… and its all undone when a bunch of politicians from his own party (the ruling LDP) plus one from the opposition go and visit Yasukuni.

What would bloody solve the issue though (or at least help) is if they remove all memorials to the War Criminals who were executed. Then you would have a normal Memorial Shrine to those ordinary soldiers.

Japan

Train Crash :(

Yesterday’s Train Crash in Osaka was one of the worst for 40 years it seems.
We were a little worried for one of our friends, who is currently studying back in the UK. She’s from Osaka to, but we were happy to find out that none of her family were involved.

Knowing how packed the trains get during that time of day, and seeing the extent of the damage to the train cars, its not suprising that suge a large number of fatalities happened :(

Cars, Motorsport

That’s more like it

Well, a much more improved Grand Prix.
Cars still find it hard to overtake on the track though… :(

At least now the Ferrari is looking a lot better. Schumacher will never be World Champion this year, but hopefully he’ll close the gap and make it a more interesting season.
