Sheer madness
During my lunchbreak, just been reading something over at an ex-work collegues own blog, about some serious misuse of the British Legal Aid system.

Being having a read through the Manifesto for Democratic Party of Japan (basically the opposition party in Japan). A lot of what these guys say sounds a lot more sensible than the Neo-con, sometimes ultra-nationalistic in some cases, and corrupt goings on with the ruling LDP. Hell, this party is so progressive compared the old guard, they’ve even got two gaijin as representatives in the Diet! SHOCK HORROR!! One of them was a Finnish chap who came here in the 70′s, and married a Japanese. He’s now a Japanese national as well.
The other thing that caught my attention was reform of the Pension system ,including making sure that Politicians here end up using the same pension system as everyone else. Currently, Japanese politions get better pensions because they have their own special one.
If I was to vote in an election here, I know which party I would vote for.

Quite an interesting story over at the BBC about Admiral Togo and the Battle of Tsushima.
As well as being interesting from a history point of view, it’s of interest to me because the shrine that was built in memorial of Togo is the very same place where Yuko and I will be having our Wedding Ceremony (Harajuku Togo Shrine).
