Day off work, so into the Mountains!
Today and tomorrow, Yuko and myself are off work.
So, we headed off on a little Day Tour. We shot off into the Dandenong Ranges. First stop was a little picnic place, where the tour company supplied us with some bird seed to feed the local birdlife (which is all very exotic looking birds for people who grew up in the UK and Japan). We then headed off to Belgrave to hop onto a Puffing Billy train. That was quite fun.
For lunch, we headed off to Fergusson Winery. Considering the place was meant to have an award winning restaurant we were a little disappointed with the roast dinner that we had. I think another bit of proof that a good roast cannot be done in a restaurant, and it has to be made at home
The food we had at the restaurant at Rochford Wines was much better when we did the Yarra Valley Winery Tour last month. Anyway, it wasn’t bad, and we tasted a few wines (and brought 3 bottles, a nice little Chardonay, a Shiraz and a Fortified Shiraz, great!!!) before hopping onto the bus.
Last stop was Healesville Sanctuary, to get up pretty close to some more Aussie Wildlife.
