Last Weekend
We’ve just had our last weekend in Australia, for the time being.
Since we’ve not centured down there yet, we decided to pop onto the tram down to St. Kilda. So, onto the number 96 tram we got and started our journey. What suprised us both though, though it shouldn’t have really when we thought about it, was when the tram turned into a train (basically, the road disappeared on segement of the journey). Stupid things ehh.
It was a fine, if bracing, day on the coast. The coast area of St. Kilda is very nice actually, along with West end side of Acland Road.
After spending some time down there, we decided to walk back via Albert Park. I eventually found the roads in the Park where they hold the GP, including the first corner, and also one of the corners where Martin Brundle had his big crash in 1996. Having said that, Albert Park is not such a nice looking park as it’s more sports orientated rather than being decorative and picturesque.
We finished off the day with a rather nice bottle of white wine, cheese selection and some other food at Upper+Lower House, in Federation Square. Having said that, it wasn’t as good there as it was when we went there on our first Saturday in Australia. They seem to have cut down their wine selection dramatically, and the atmosphere there just wasn’t ‘happening’. Ahh well.
Today, we headed over to Chapel Road area, where one of Yuko’s ex-collegues put on a little get-together. I say “EX” collegue, because Yuko’s last day of work was on Friday. So, today we got some home-made Japanese food, ready for our journey back this coming Friday.
