   This is not a surprise, I have asked a many of my students about this and they just consider it a normal part of Japanese politics.

   As you say, it really is ‘normal’… but to me there seems to be a high percentage of new scandals emerging at the moment.

   I mean, normally you get the odd government scandal, followed by a dodgy policeman scandal, followed by building industry scandal, then perhaps a food scandal, before going full circle and having your next government scandal.
