Interesting little story… Tesco is planning to ship Wine around the country (the UK) using barges on the canal network.

Must admit, sounds good to me.

However, one does get the impression that this is just a token effort and a bit of ‘green-wash‘. Or, have they seen the writing on the wall at last, and this is the first of many steps to eventual relocalisation…. nah, doubt it.

I mean, they ship loads of wine in from the US, Australia and NZ… when I’m sure there is plenty of good stuff to get from France, Italy, and Spain.
