In the Times link, something caught my attention…

Security is to be increased at railway stations, airport terminals, sea ports, and at more than one hundred ‘sensitive’ installations, such as nuclear power stations and key electricity, gas, and petrol plants.

Hmmm (Gavin strokes his chin a bit here). You’d almost think that the government was expecting disturbances to occur in those areas, at a time of potential shortage.
