Peak Oil, Politics

Pub Quiz

Here’s a little quiz for you.

In other PO related news.
Whilst I suspect that Cameron wanting to have a Wind Turbine on his house in London is part of his attempts to look ‘cool and green’, and that something like that would not really give him much power (proper insulation would be much more effective in cutting power requirements, but you can’t get pictures of that in the press can you)… I really have to bang my head on the desk in frustration at the sheer idiocy of some of the UK’s planning regulations and departments.

Over at the BBC, someone managed to sneak a post onto the website, getting it through the “we can’t talk about and use the word ‘Peak Oil’” censors. It’s quite an interesting read, even if it’s an article which is just a plug for the authors book.

Meanwhile, Sydney is trying to raise awareness of Global Warming by having an organised blackout… or are the government slowly getting the population used to powercuts ;)
Wooo, real tin-foil hat stuff there.

PC, Technology and Computing

MS loses it’s grip, just a little???

Following on from a previous post of mine, seems like MS’s woes continue.
Quite a significant move?

Whilst I’m sure Vista in many ways is an improvement over XP, it’s seems to be forcing people to ask questions about why we are all (well, a lot of us) are using MS software. Hopefully, this will spur MS on to actually do something about it. I certainly don’t won’t MS to disappear.

I’m going to do my folks a favour…
