Food, Football, General, Rugby, Sport
For once, we had good weather on Bank (Public) Holiday weekend. Fantastic.
Saturday was spent down in Cardiff Bay. Yuko and I were not overly impressed to be honest. The Millennium Centre is quite an impressive piece of architecture, and there happened to be a small market on there… but that was it really. The rest just seemed to be over-priced restaurants.
Sunday and Monday was spent back at my folks place, where we enjoyed a rather big BBQ with the parents and sister, bro-in-law and niece.
Soon, the World Cup is upon us… and Bogue found this rather amusing little video about “Football/Soccer vs Rugby”

Looks like I’m not the only person having problems this year with the things. I reckon I’ve lost 25% of my food I’ve been growing this year.

Well, the scramble for what’s going to be left over is starting to pick up pace. After the recent excursion by the Russians, now the Danish are looking to see what they can grab from the Arctic Region.
It’s quite interesting to see how things are panning out from a geo-political view. My thoughts, the Russians are in a real position of power here… though I’d rather see the Danish get their hands on any resources.
Meanwhile in other stuff on the net.
What’s that saying… “All Publicity is Good Publicity”… well, I suspect that isn’t quite the case when it comes to air disasters. It seems the PR and Marketing people at China Airlines (a Taiwanese airline) would suspect that too.
Japundit.com had an interesting little article on the regional variances in common foods. I always remember how Yuko and her parents loved going shopping for the most mundane things (like instant Ramen packs, or various sauces) whenever we visited relatives down in Yamaguchi. It was just that we could never get that flavoured food back in Tokyo, Chiba and Kanagawa areas of Japan.
