Bananas in Pyjamas… Australian Culture?
I enjoy watching “BANANAS IN PYJAMAS” every morning which is a kiddy programme in Australia.
BANANAS wear PYJAMAS and B1 or B2 are written on their collars. These are their names. Their job is Beach Patrol. I wonder why they wear pyjamas every day? When I watched once, they ordered suits but they didn’t fit. So they decided to wear pyjamas again because that’s comfortable for then so they wear pyjamas. In another episode, Bananas and Bears(their friends) played “catch-chase”, as Thursdays is they day they do that according to the opening song. It’s a shame that I can’t watch any more… so I bought the DVD today. It’s embarrassing to start liking into Kiddy programmes!? We saw then in an Aussie Celebrity photo exhibition, comedians talk about then and BANANAS in PYJAMAS are also in the other shows. It must be OZ culture, I thought!!
わしは”BANANAS IN PYJAMAS”という子供番組にはまっていて、毎朝観ている。１０分程度の番組でなんとも妙でわしの心を掴んだ。双子(！？)のバナナがパジャマを着ていて襟にはB1、B2と書かれていて、それが彼等の名前。彼等の仕事はビーチパトロール。どうしてパジャマを着ているのか！？前に観たエピソードで、スーツを新調するストーリーがあったが、出来上がったスーツがそれぞれのサイズに合わず、やっぱりパジャマが一番楽だみたいなことを言っていたので、着心地がいいことから毎日パジャマを着ていると思われる。また、別のエピソードでは毎週木曜日はベアー達(ベアーも出演。友達です)と追いかけっこをする日ということも判明！！観た方は解るかもしれませんが、オープニングはバナナがベアーを追いかけています。あれは木曜日の行事ということだと納得。もう、この番組が観れなくなるのはちょっと悲しいと思い、今日、わしはDVDを購入。何を子供番組にはまって！？確かに・・・でも、OZセレブ写真展で彼等の写真が掲げられていたこと。コメディアンが話題にあげていたこと。またコメディドラマでも ”BANANAS IN PYJAMAS”を観ている映像があったりして、これはOZ文化に違いないと確信！！
